God’s Not Done with You Yet

God’s Not Done with You Yet

I recently spent the weekend at a women’s retreat and the theme was “Under Construction.” It was a powerful message reminding us of God’s work in us and in our lives. He never stops working. We’re never too far gone that He sees fit to simply discard us.

God’s not done with us yet.God will never be done with us.

This message resonated in the deepest part of my being and I felt an overwhelming peace with it. What a beautiful realization that my troubles of today don’t have to be troubles of tomorrow because God’s still working. What I am today doesn’t have to be what I am tomorrow because God’s still working.

I want nothing more than for my children to embrace this same message. I want them to understand without a doubt that God stands solidly by their side no matter what.

God’s not done with them yet. God will never be done with them.

We need to instill in our children the incredible truth that they are perfectly and wonderfully made and God continues to perfect them into His image.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

We must encourage our children to embrace their life journey with the steadfast knowledge that God is on the ride. He hasn’t—nor ever will—leave their side.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

We have to remind our children that God has a perfect plan for them. That although there may be trials today, there is joy in the future.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5 (NIV)

As parents, we want our children to grow into the best possible versions of themselves, but we can’t accomplish that alone. We need God. We need God’s grace and perfection to help us mold our little people into amazing, big people.

We need our children to understand that the process is ongoing. It never ends. God’s work in us doesn’t stop at a certain age or milestone. It will continue until we come face to face with our Heavenly Father.

God is not done with us. God will never be done with us.
