Designed for Destiny

Designed for Destiny

God presents our children as fragile bundles of life, completely dependent upon us to nurture and protect them. We cannot begin to comprehend their enormous potential while changing diapers and kissing sweet baby toes. But God does…

Pause and think about each of your children, considering God’s words to Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you…” (Jer. 1:5 NKJV)

It’s believed that David was no older than fifteen, a simple shepherd caring for his family’s sheep when God told Samuel to anoint him as king who would someday reign over Israel.

Billy Graham grew up on a dairy farm. Every morning at 10:00, his parents went upstairs to kneel and pray for him when he attended Bible school.

God was so delighted by Mary’s teenage heart, He chose her to become the mother of the Savior of the world.

One family asked God to give them a preacher named Timothy, “honoring God”, before he was ever conceived. Some declared neither he nor his mother would survive pregnancy, but God used their desperate prayers and experiences to execute a miracle that would give Tim Tebow a strong pro-life platform as he shares God with the world.

The power of prayer defining destinies is undeniable.

*  Set aside specific times to kneel and pray for your children.

*  Speak life and God-honoring destiny over them every day.

Father, help us to never yield our parental influence to the world.

Please surround these children and their friends with God-honoring mentors,

men and women who will pray for and speak wisdom into their lives,

helping define and confirm Your Will for them.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;

Before you were born I sanctified you;

I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV

Delight yourself also in the Lord,

And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord,

Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.

Psalm 37:4 & 5 NKJV

I want to hear your thoughts. Please share your experiences, prayers, and ideas for helping all of us call forth God’s destiny for our children – His children.  If you’d like further encouragement or ideas, please connect with me on Facebook.
