Celebrate All Babies on National Pro-life Cupcake Day

Celebrate All Babies on National Pro-life Cupcake Day

Pink and blue frosting atop a lovely cupcake with heart sprinkles or other decorations reflect joy and party time. Alas, many babies never have a single birthday. Some pass on to heaven before birth in a miscarriage while others die in an abortion. Watch this prolife cupcake day video about the day and importance of life.

For every three children who have a first birthday, one child did not. It’s a big number. Fifty million babies who never came into the world to receive a kiss or have a cupcake. Blow kisses to heaven as you pray that the lives of other babies will be spared.

A cupcake, like a baby, is small and sweet. Look at baby pictures of family members and talk about how we change as we grow. The best change is to open our hearts to Jesus and follow God.

Use cupcakes to celebrate life:

  • Hold a cupcake sale to raise money for life and donate to a local pro-life organization.
  • Light single candles on cupcakes and pray that more babies will live to have a birthday. For older children, this is a good time to talk to them about abortion (at an age-appropriate level).
  • As you light the candles, pray that God’s light will open hearts to save babies and make the choice for life.
  • Post a photo of your cupcake on social media.
  • Give away cupcakes and share that you care about life.
  • Thank God for all your birthdays and that you are alive.
  • Tell everyone you see you are thankful their mom gave them life.

Family Activity: Pumpkin Nutrition

Pumpkins contain seeds so they are fruit. It’s a type of squash. You can roast and eat the seeds.

We have fruit inside us from the Holy Spirit (like peace, joy, and self-control – read Galatians 5:22-23)

You may have heard about the pumpkin gospel (that you open it to find lots of gunk that has to be removed like we have to have sin removed from our hearts). Once it is carved a light can be put inside as a reminder that Jesus—the Light of the World—comes into our heart. A pumpkin is

healthy with lots of good nutrition too. You can even eat the leaves.

Do a word search to find out more about pumpkin nutrition. You may need to look up the words to see what each one means and how it helps your body.
