Boxes, Bows, and Ribbons—OH MY

Boxes, Bows, and Ribbons—OH MY

I’m so excited to share my favorite new decorating idea with you: GIANT PRESENTS! YAY for fun. YAY for Christmas Decorating! And yay for making home a fun and beautiful place for your family.

Choose three different sized boxes—the larger the better. Choose three different patterns of wrapping paper (two should be patterned, and one solid). Choose at least two to three different sized ribbons. Create super-large bows for a touch of drama. You can even embellish your gifts with bells, or other special ornamentation.

Voila! These are so adorable in the corner of any room in your house. Try intertwining tinkle lights into the ribbon for a touch of coziness. I’m feeling cozy just thinking about it!

You might want to place these in your guest room. Trust me, your guests will LOVE you for it! But, you might want to leave a REAL wrapped present on their bed.

I prefer placing my giant presents on my front porch. They make me smile each time I come back home.

And they cost so little to create!

If you want to cover boxes for your front or backyard, make a trip to a store like Walmart or Dollar General and purchase vinyl table cloths. Use these in lieu of traditional wrapping paper. Be sure to tape each end with duct-tape. This will guarantee your giant presents remain truly water-proof.

Talk to your children and grandchildren as you create your giant presents together. Share how we might feel empty inside at times, but God covers us with His love, protects us, and makes all things beautiful…in His time. Share how Jesus is the gift that keeps on giving. The BEST present of all!
